Workplace Security

The Workplace Security Course provides guidance to individuals and organizations on how to improve the security in your workplace. Employees are often the target of these threats as well as the organization’s first line of defense against them. Threats endanger the confidentiality, integrity, and security of your workplace, as well as your virtual workplace and computer systems. This course presents information on how employees and employers can contribute to your organization’s security. Included in this 2-day training are Handgun Fundamentals and Concealed Carry options and training.

***Please note that the actions described throughout this training are options to consider. Whenever possible and applicable, employees should comply with established company policies and procedures. However, no matter what type of security measures an organization puts in place, it is important for all employees to be vigilant about anything unusual at the workplace that could threaten security.

Day 1:  Classroom Phase:
We live in a world of ever-increasing risk. No workplace whether a construction site, office building, factory floor, or retail store is immune. Risks threaten worker safety, employee morale, and a company’s economic livelihood. There are three components of risk to consider; Threat, Vulnerability, and Consequence.

This course presents common threats and describes measures employers and employees can take in each area to promote a secure workplace:

  • Workplace Violence Threats
  • Information and Cyber Threats

Day 2:  Classroom Phase:
Most active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. Because most incidents are over within minutes, we must be prepared to deal with the situation until law enforcement personnel arrive. During the past several years, there have been many active shooter incidents;

  • Where we shop
  • Where we exercise our free speech
  • Where we learn
  • Where we work

Preparedness and awareness are the keys to helping protect our employees, our customers, and ourselves.

  • Prepare:  Developing an Emergency Action Plan, conducting training, recognizing indicators of potential workplace violence.
