Description

Cost:  $595.00 per vehicle.  This includes the family and all kit, but it must fit in one vehicle.

The goal of this course is to have students learn and demonstrate the fundamentals of survival during an emergency, either by evacuation or shelter in place.  We will visit the kit you have, or may need to meet the challenges of civil unrest and movement into rural areas.  As outside pressure and violence erodes the conditions and gasoline is stipend, curfews are placed and electricity, sanitation, food and water are suddenly in very short supply…you can’t be prepared enough.

Urban and Rural Readiness I

Course Description:

This course is a practical exercise conducted at the MAST Solutions Training Facility in Austin, TX.  The student will demonstrate vehicle set-up, security, shelter, land navigation, fire, food, river crossing, team work, leadership, sanitation, medical / first aid, and much more. The students will gain knowledge of the key points to survive the first 72 hours and plan for the next.  The students will check what they have for a “go bag” and prepare a vehicle strategy to move.  The student will demonstrate the technical side and applications of the survival kit and to use its contents competently. The natural stress of having preparations (kit) however never have put it to use is unraveled and addressed in this courses.

Practical Topics:

1. Evacuation
2. Shelter, fire starting, water purifying, and vehicle set-up.
3. Bug out bag set-up.
4. Priorities of work.
5. Kit shake down and key pieces of gear.
6. Important knots, security concerns, tools and tool care and maintenance,
7. Scavenging (starting with your vehicle).
8. Chain of command.
9. Land navigation and movements.
10. Water fording, and river crossing.
11. Patient movement/echelon of care.
12. H-ABC’s.
13. Wounds and wound care.

What to Bring:

1. Items you would pack in your vehicle such as tent, go bag, food and water etc.
2. Sanitation item such as wet wipes, large trash bags etc
3. Glow sticks, flashlights, and illumination for low light no-light
4. Tools you would pack
5. Personal affects and toiletries
6. Fire starting and cooking items
7. Parachute cord and or rope
8. Water purification items if you have them
9. Compass and other land navigation tools
10. Wear and bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and suitable for weather
11. Weapons you would pack or take
12. 300 rounds for primary weapons system and cleaning kit
13. Eye pro and ear pro
14. Bring a note pad and paper for notes (not required)
